One of the must eat food in Penang - Char Koay Teow. Red Hat Auntie's Penang Char Kway Teow along Lorong Selamat is one of the famous, MUST TRY char Koay Teow in town! Red Hat Auntie's Penang Char Kway Teow is a small stall inside the Heng Kuat Kafe. I went there on Saturday. As usual, famous restaurant is always full of people.
RM 10 for one plate of Char Koay Teow. Last year was only RM8 (the power of GST!!!). Char Koay Teow cooked by an old lady with red hat on her head. Don't "kacau" when aunty is cooking ... Our Char Koay Teow served within 5 minutes. I love it so much when food is served with no frills, but food are still has an edible quality that's acceptable.
Simple fried koay teow with scallion, prawn and bean sprouts. This Fried Char Koay Teow give a little bit spicy taste and they aren't sticky at all. I don't think this koay teow is oily, you can find koay teow which is more oily than this. Somehow i think its a bit pricey at RM10 ...
Besides char koay teow, they also serve Sotong Kangkung! A very delicious sotong kangkung with crunchy peanut sprinkle.Not over cooked kangkung plus fresh and very chewy squid. Pay another RM10 for this ... adohai ...
